My recent shoot “Summer Hues” was recently published in L’Officiel Magazine Middle East. The weather was wonderful albeit very windy with a clear blue sky. The clothes definitely show the wonderful clothes of summer and we were privilege to have brands like Roberto Cavalli and Versace to name but a few! Makeup involved a bright blue eyeshadow that was highlighted in the hair with blue acrylic paint. Hair was a combo of crimped and curls to withstand the winds.
I had a great team working on this shoot. The talented Katie Cousins (hair and makeup), the sweet Sleiman Dayaa (Styling), the lovely Visna who was our model for the day and my assistants Evelyn and Werner Muller.
Lighting was mainly natural light with a large silver sunbounce which proved tricky holding up in the wind. There were times we were nearly taken into the water trying to hold it!
Thanks guys for a great shoot! Photography / Art Direction – Belinda Muller Styling – Sleiman Dayaa Hair & Makeup – Katie Cousins Model – Visna ( Bareface) Assistants – Evelyn Garcia/ Werner Muller

Sometimes things happens on a shoot that you didn’t see coming but in the end its up to you as the photographer to make it work and get on with the job. This was the case here with my recent shoot for Aigner jewelry for the Aniqa Magazine. Moodboard sent to client for approval, models and place booked, going to site to find spots to shoot = ALL SET! You would think? Arrive on day of the shoot and everyone arrives except the female model! No word, no nothing! Well this was a first for me and as they say there is always a first time for everything. Gave a 1/2 hour then called the booker for alternate options, obviously crucial that we pick someone with a similar frame to the selected model then sent through to client for approval.
We were fortunate to have the lovely Bruno from MMG events who was a trooper and the lovely model to fill in was Lidiana from Bareface. I have worked with Lidi last year on the Piaget shoot for Arouss and she is a consummate professional. Got to the site which was the Ritz Carlton DIFC and sailed in as if nothing had happened!
I had a fantastic creative team who worked with me on the shoot. The lovely Natalie Treviswho was responsible for the styling, the makeup and hair magician, SHINDESU and my righthand assistant, Evelyn. They are really an asset to any shoot, super calm and professional in their work and on set!
I also want to thank the lovely Andrea Bruce from The Ritz Carlton, DIFC who graciously put us up in a lovely room and organized us the all the refreshments and a delicious lunch. I am always happy working at both Ritzes in Dubai they really have excellent staff!
Lighting was a mix a Nikon SB 900 flashes and the Profoto B3 Battery pack. I also used a small reflector for fill in some shots.
A lovely creative team always a joy working with you guys! Photography/ Art Direction – Belinda Muller www.belindamullerphotography.com Styling – Natalie Trevis Hair/ Makeup – Shindesu Models – Lidiana (Bareface)/ Bruno (MMG Events) Assistant – Evelyn Garcia Brand – Aigner Client – Swizz Watches
Sometimes it’s great to just throw everything out the window and do some crazy stuff! Yep, nothing perfect, clean and “normal”, just something crazy, different and fun! Let the imagination flow so to speak! That’s why this generation is actually … Continue reading →

I collaborated with Toni Malt, my good friend and fellow creative on a hair and makeup shoot called “Ethereal Geishasm” The look was a gradual progression experimenting with various black hair wig pieces combined with edgy, modern makeup with some interesting new techniques.
Our lovely model was Ira, originally from the Ukraine but currently resides in Dubai. She has worked in Europe for several years and is a joy to work with. Tall, slim and really works the room.
We shot in my studio with a simple beige background. The great thing about experimenting is that one can change if one feels that the light wont do the look justice. The lighting consisting of a Profoto Acute 2400 pack, a strip light, beauty dish, hair light and my trusted silver sunbounce. The sunbounce really gives a kick to you photos when you want to lighten the shadows but keep up the fashion look. I shot with the D700 with the 85mm and 70- 200mm lenses and must say it is still a wonderful camera after all the new models that have come on the market since then!
Some behind the scenes photos
I want to thank Toni and Ira for all their hard work and was a pleasure working with them.
