We recently did the Piaget Rose Passion Collection for Aroos Bridal Magazine for Zahrat Al Khaleej at the beautiful desert resort, Banyan Al Wadi on Ras Al Khaimah outside Dubai. I’ve wanted to shoot there for a while and when the opportunity arose I was able to make contact with the lovely Viriginia Besancon to assist us with the location. A stunning resort perfectly located surrounded by red dunes and a fantastic herb garden! It was a pleasure working with Piaget again and working with the Piaget team. They are always open to new ideas with regards to shoots and have been very supportive of my work for 4.5 years now. Their gorgeous new S/S 14 Rose Passion Collection is pure opulence. Logistically also quite challenging as you do not want million dirham jewelry falling into desert sand! The theme for the shoot was themed “Desert Bride” to make use of the desert surroundings and beautiful sunset. I also kept the sun’s flare integeral throughout the editorial. Lighting consisted of natural light with the sun bounce fill and off camera flash for the sunset shots. Makeup and hair was soft and subtle keeping the mood light focusing on the Piaget jewelry pieces. The talented Hair and makeup artist responsible for the styles was my dear friend and fellow creative, Shindesu. Our lovely dresses for the shoot was from the gracious Ayesha Depala. Our stylist for the day was sweet Nicola Flifel. Marketa from Wilhelmina Models Dubai was our model for the day. All in all it was a successful shoot despite some thorns I had to dig out of my feet later that night. A big thank you to everyone who assisted and helped us with Piaget, logistics, MUA and styling.
